Foundations of Rope Class

  • Ember Society 5841 Mission Gorge Road, Suite G San Diego, CA (map)

Whether you're brand new to rope or looking to strengthen your foundations, this class is designed to help you begin your rope journey with curiosity and intention. We'll start by getting to know one another before exploring the fundamentals of rope, including (but not limited to) rope selection, safety practices, nerve awareness, circulation checks, vetting, and aftercare. From there, we'll move into hands-on practice, covering rope anatomy, handling drills, foundational single- and double-column ties, joining ropes, reverse tension (time permitting), and proper rope coiling. You'll leave with a deeper understanding of the mechanics of rope, providing a strong foundation to cultivate meaningful connections with the people you tie as your practice grows.
