Hi . I’m Kitt.
As a rope bondage lover, educator, creative producer, and experiential storyteller my work explores the relationship between movement, aesthetics, sensation, and connection. Having spent my career bringing ambitious creative visions to life across entertainment, technology, and immersive experiences, I approach rope, as I do most things, as both an artistic medium and an ongoing practice of exploration.
Originally from Germany, I grew up in the Midwest training extensively in ballet and jazz from an early age. Later, evolving to a more contemporary style, dance has helped shape the way I understand movement, body awareness, and physical communication. These influences continue to inform my rope practice today. I’m particularly drawn to the intersection of technical precision and emotional intention, where aesthetic beauty (let us not forget beauty in the ‘grotesque’) and human experience become inseparable.
What first drew me to shibari in 2018 was, admittedly, a partner. What kept me there was the endless depths of the practice. Since then, I’ve pursued studies with teachers across the US and abroad including (but not limited to) Naka Akira, Tamandua, KissMeDeadlyDoll, Erato Bänana, Federico Kirigami + Marta, Ricardo Wildties + Alexandra, Hajime Kinoko, Lief, Naoko Nawa and am inspired by countless others!
Their teachings have shaped a practice grounded in technical clarity, adaptability, curiosity, and the belief that there is rarely a single "right" way to tie—only deeper ways to listen.
As both a rigger and rope model, I’ve come to appreciate the value of experiencing rope from multiple perspectives. This dual lens informs my teaching, which emphasizes safety, intentionality, body awareness, communication, and creative adaptions. While technical proficiency provides an essential foundation, I encourage students to develop a practice that feels authentic to them rather than simply reproducing someone else's style.
I have taught and performed throughout the Los Angeles rope and kink community, including, but not limited to, Devil Mask Studio, The Stockroom, The Rope Collective, Ember Society (coming soon), International Women's Day events, Nude Art LA, and at a number of community and play-party spaces. Whether teaching a foundational tie, performing for an audience, collaborating on a photoshoot, rope figure drawing, or privately sharing rope with a partner, I approach the practice with equal parts dedication, curiosity, and a healthy respect for the fact that rope has a tendency to humble everyone eventually.
At its core, rope is a conversation…one that unfolds through trust, communication, suffering, play, and mutual presence. While a beautiful image may be what first captures our attention, it is the unique experiences of creating together that continues to inspire me.
(And yes, I do more than just rope, but we don’t talk so much about that here ehehehe)
